The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) administers export credit guarantee programs for commercial financing of U.S. agricultural exports. These USDA Commodity Credit Corporation programs facilitate exports to buyers in countries where credit is difficult to obtain. The guarantees provide protection for the U.S. exporters and U.S. banks from default by the foreign banks.
