1. The
ATSC web site is provided as a public service by the
United States Army Training Support Center .
2. Information presented on the
ATSC web site is considered public information and may be distributed or copied. Use of appropriate byline/photo/image credits is requested.
3. For site management, information is collected for statistical purposes. This government computer system uses software programs to create summary statistics,
which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas. The statistical analysis package uses
cookies to gather statistics that you can view in our Site Activity Trend Report.
4. The Army Training Support Center web server
does not use
persistent cookies, i.e., tokens that pass information back
and forth from your machine to the server and remain after you close your browser. The ATSC web server does use
session cookies, i.e., tokens that remain active only until you close your browser, in order to make the site easier for you to use. No database of information obtained from these cookies is kept. The ATSC web server uses cookies in the following ways:

to save time in filling out forms

to process requests for information

to make sure you get the information you request, rather than information requested by someone else
We also use these cookies to pass session information to our comment form to tell
us what page you were on when you sent us the comment and the date time. You can chose not to accept these cookies
and still use the site, but you may need to enter the same information repeatedly and responses to email messages may be delayed because they require more research. The help information in your browser software should provide you with instruction on how to disable cookies.
5. For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this government computer system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.
6. Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with
[National Archives and Records Administration General Schedule 20].
7. Unauthorized attempts to uplod information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1987 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.
8. The appearance of hyperlinks to other non-DoD web sites
does not constitute endorsementby the U.S. Army Training Support Center of those web sites or the information, products or services contained therein. The U.S. Army Training Support Center does not exercise any editorial control over the information you may find at those locations. These links are provided consistent with the stated purpose of this web site.
9. If you identify yourself by sending an e-mail, you also may decide to send us personally-identifying information, for example, in an electronic mail message containing a complaint. We use personally-identifying information from users in various ways to provide answers and improve our web site. Before you send email, there are a few things you should know.
- The material you submit may be seen by various people. We may enter the information you send into our electronic database to share with web administrators, web authors, and support personnel in order to improve our web site's performance and usefullnes.

In other limited circumstances, including requests from Congress or private individuals, we may be required by law to disclose information you submit.
- Also, e-mail is not necessarily secure against interception. If your communication is very sensitive, or includes personal information like your social security number, you might want to send it by postal mail instead
unless you use the our e-mail form and not 'mailto: addressing' links that utilize normal e-mail channels.
Our e-mail form formats the mail on our web server using
secure socket layer (SSL) technology then sends the message via the SMTP Server that is running on the web server to the our Exchange Server which is on the same network. Therefore, the chance of unauthorized eyes intercepting the message are extremely small.
One problem with problem using secure socket layer (SSL) technology is that
only version 4.x browsers allow you to accept our server certificate because earlier versions of browsers only allow certificates from Root Authorities that were in existance when those browsers were created.
NOTE: If you send messages using a free e-mail service, you will not receive our response if your mailbox is full. Messages sent to full mailboxes are returned to us as "undeliverable".
