Nonimmigrant MRV Fee

Each visa applicant must pay the appropriate Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee, as listed below. All fees must be paid at any branch of Danske Bank into the US Embassy account, Reg. No. 4001, Account No. 0010601967.

Any applicant who does not present the original fee receipt showing the correct payment will have to return to Danske Bank, make the appropriate payment, and then re-schedule a new visa appointment.

Payment by Internet banking is not acceptable, and you will be required to go to a Danske Bank branch and obtain an original bank receipt, if necessary by making an additional payment. Please note that no refunds will be made for any fees that are transferred incorrectly.

Please read carefully to determine which fee you must pay.  This fee must be paid prior to your visa interview.

  • Applicants whose visa is based on an approved petition from the Department of Homeland Security.  This includes Temporary Worker or Trainee (H); Intracompany Transferee (L); Alien with Extraordinary Ability (O); Athlete, Artist, or Entertainer (P); International Cultural Exchange Visitor (Q); and Religious Worker (R).  The MRV fee is 1235 Dkr.
  • Treaty Trader/Treaty Investor (E).  The MRV fee is 1755 DKr.
  • For all other visa classes, including tourist/business travelers (B), crew and transit passengers (C and D), students (F and M), journalists/media representatives (I), and exchange visitors (J), the MRV fee is 1040 DKr.

This fee must be paid BEFORE the applicant arrives to the Embassy for their scheduled interview. Any applicant who fails to make payment before their scheduled appointment time will forfeit the appointment and must rebook a new appointment on the internet.

The application fee is non-refundable; no refund will be made if the visa is denied or if the applicant decides not to pursue an application. The original fee receipt must be presented when the visa application is submitted at the Embassy.

Only applicants for A-1, A-2, A-3, G-1, G-2, G-3, G-4, G-5, C-3, NATO, and U.S. Government-sponsored visas are exempt from the application fee.

Visa Reciprocity Fees

Applicants from certain countries that charge U.S. citizens special fees for visas may be required to pay an additional visa issuance/reciprocity fee. Please note that this issuance fee, unlike the processing fee, is not to be paid in advance. If you qualify for the visa, you will be asked to pay the fee to the consular cashier after your interview. Applicants may consult the U.S. Department of State’s Visa Reciprocity Fee table for more information.

SEVIS Fee

Students applying for F or M visas with I-20 forms and exchange visitors applying for J visas with DS-2019 forms must pay a SEVIS fee. This fee covers the cost of administering the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). This fee must be paid before the student applies for a visa. Derivative applicants (F-2, M-2 and J-2) do not have to pay a SEVIS fee.
