Secretary Clinton Speaks on Women, Peace and Security

On December 19, Secretary Clinton spoke at Georgetown University about new efforts across the U.S. Government to support women's participation in peace and security, including plans to better protect women from conflict-related violence and promote women’s leadership and perspectives in all aspects of conflict prevention, resolution, relief, and recovery. 

Embassy staff and Marines collect and donate toys to less fortunate children in Denmark

Since 1947, the United States Marine Corps Reserve has collected and distributed more than 400 million new toys to more than 188 million needy children in the United States and around the world through the ‘Toys for Tots’ Program.

New Danish – American Green Partnership

A global partnership between the American environmental firm JMM Management Group and Danish software house Geokon was announced at the Embassy of the United States of America in Copenhagen on December 1st, 2011. Ambassador Fulton hosted the signing ceremony to highlight a new Danish – American Green Partnership contributing to environmental sustainability.

Green Partnership

Ambassador Fulton led a Green Partnerships delegation in Washington, D.C. September 19-22. Green Partnerships is an ongoing collaboration between the American Embassy in Denmark and the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) with the primary focus of building transatlantic bridges in the cleantech sector by actively pursuing and facilitating opportunities for industry collaboration.

Ambassador Fulton visits the city of smiles

Missing Children's Day

Last year, parents abducted nearly 2,000 children to or from the United States. That’s 40 children taken from their homes and from their loved ones each week.  

Ambassador Fulton Goes West

On May 17 and 18 Ambassador Fulton visited the most western part of Denmark. Ambassador Fulton was on a two day trip to Esbjerg. Once a major fishing port, Esbjerg is now Denmark’s offshore capital.

13 May 2011 - The results of the selection process for the 2012 Diversity Visa (DV-2012) program have been voided. Results previously available via the Entry Status Check function on the Department of State website, dvlottery.state.gov, were posted in error and are now invalid.

Secretary of State Clinton will travel to Nuuk, Greenland May 11-12 to participate in a meeting of the Arctic Council. The Arctic Council is composed of the eight Arctic states, with the involvement of Arctic indigenous groups, and is the pre-eminent intergovernmental forum for cooperation in the Arctic.

April 15 - Ambassador Fulton attends Danish Championship in Entrepreneurship and Innovation

It was an exciting day on Friday April 15. 22 teams from Danish schools gathered at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Copenhagen to compete in the Danish Championship in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. U.S. Ambassador to Denmark, Laurie S. Fulton, delivered closing remarks just before the winners were to be announced. 

2011 AmCham Transatlantic Company Award

April 12 - Ambassador Fulton presented the 2011 AmCham Transatlantic Company Award and delivered remarks about the importance of the transatlantic relationship between the U.S. and Europe. The 2011 award winner is Grundfos, represented by Dennis Wierzbicki, President of Grundfos Pumps Corporation (center), the company's U.S. branch.  

Representative Robert B. Aderholt visited Denmark

April 12. Ambassador Fulton met with Representative Robert B. Aderholt (R) from Alabama today. Rep. Aderholt visited Copenhagen to participate in the meeting of the Bureau of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. One of the main topics of the meeting at the OSCE was human rights.

Special Representative to Muslim Communities Farah Pandith is in Denmark for a couple of days. During her visit she and Ambassador Fulton talked to the Danish Youth Council in the Copenhagen neighborhood of Nørrebro.

Good evening, the U.S. is very pleased with today’s vote and with the strong provisions of Resolution 1973. This resolution should send a strong message to Colonel Qadhafi and his regime that the violence must stop, the killing must stop, and the people of Libya must be protected and have the opportunity to express themselves freely. 

Ambassador Fulton visits Odense

On March 16 and 17 Ambassador Fulton visited Odense. The visit started at the H.C Andersen Museum where the museum's curator, Ane Grum Schwensen gave Ambassador Fulton a tour. After the tour Ambassador Fulton continued with the H.C. Andersen theme and visited the Tinder Box Children's Cultural Center where she got to walk through some of Andersen's famous fairy tales.
