The Chapel Volunteer Management System (CVMS) requires that all volunteers fill out the proper paperwork prior to volunteering within our chapels and chapel programs.  Each volunteer must complete the Chapel Volunteer Registration Form and DD2793 Form.  The Chapel Registration Form only needs to be filled out once.  The DD2793 only needs to be filled out once per program. All volunteers working with minors, food and/or money must complete the Background Check Form on an annual basis.  Any minor wishing to volunteer in a program, must have their parents complete the Parental Permission Form.

The Chief of Chaplains has established the current Chapel Volunteer Management System Policy because of a strong and long-standing commitment to ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of the children and young people who participate in our chapel programs and the volunteers who so generously offer their time as an act of worship and stewardship.  It is also his strong commitment to continue to provide a volunteer management system that complies with applicable Public Law, DoD Directives and Army Regulations, while at the same time, respecting the fact that volunteerism in Army Chapels is first and foremost an act of worship and stewardship firmly rooted in the rich religious traditions from whence our volunteers come.  As the proponent for the largest single volunteer organization in the United States Army, we have historically set the standard in recruiting, training supporting, monitoring, evaluating, and rewarding our volunteers who give so graciously of their time and talents.  We will continue to maintain that high standard of caring for our volunteers and for our children and young people, which has been the hallmark of our Army Chapels.  We support in principle the guidelines set forth by FMWRC and as executed by local Installation Volunteer Managers, and encourage garrison chaplains to support local volunteer recognition and award ceremonies.  Further, we encourage individuals who so choose to use the automated Volunteer Management Information System (located at website www.myarmylifetoo.com ) to maintain a continuous record of their volunteer hours, however, because volunteerism in chapels is an act of worship and stewardship, we cannot and must not compel them to do so.
