You may be granted an Excused Absence for time needed (including travel time) to take the following exams:

• Non-competitive civil service examinations for positions in the Department
• Examinations established by operating units to determine qualifications for promotion
• Competitive examinations to qualify for competitive status in the positions which you hold in the Department

Your supervisor may also grant excused absence for the time necessary to take other examinations (e.g., the CPA exam, bar exam) which are directly related to your current or prospective duties within the Department.
