Analyses

BEA uses the estimates of state and local area personal income and gross domestic product by state and by metropolitan area to identify and to measure the factors that determine the differences in the levels and in the growth rates among counties, metropolitan areas, or states. The analyses are published six times a year in the Survey of Current Business and in news releases. More detailed analyses of topics such as the regional variation in manufacturing earnings are published periodically in the Survey of Current Business.
