2/14/2011 - KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 2011 Okinawa Marathon, which will run through Kadena, is scheduled for Feb. 20.

During the event, Gate 2 and Gate 5 will be closed to vehicle traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Roads will be closed from Gate 2 on Kuter Boulevard to Vincent Avenue, and from Vincent Avenue to Schreiber Boulevard and from Schreiber Boulevard to Gate 5. However, both gates will remain open for pedestrians with authorized base passes.

Residents living inside the on-base route should consider parking their vehicles outside the affected area if they plan to travel anywhere during the time frame. Businesses and facilities along the route will also be affected by the marathon.

Please direct any traffic related questions or concerns to the 18th Security Forces Squadron at 634-4212.
