AMR - Research

The Los Alamos Applied Mathematical Research (AMR) program is focused on applied mathematics research, and predictability of complex systems to discover, develop, and deploy the computational tools that enable researchers in the scientific disciplines to analyze, model, simulate, and predict complex physical, chemical, and biological phenomena important to the Department of Energy. These tools are crucial if DOE researchers in the scientific disciplines are to maintain their world leadership. To accomplish this mission, the Los Alamos AMR program fosters and supports fundamental research in applied mathematics to provide the fundamental mathematical methods and algorithms needed to model complex physical, chemical, and biological systems.
