3/22/2011 - Kadena Air Base, Japan -- An Airman assigned to Kadena died near the northern Okinawa city of Nago in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident Saturday, March 19.

Tech Sgt. Bounmy Sayavongchanh, of the 18th Component Maintenance Squadron, was pronounced dead at Hokubu Hospital at 2:33 p.m. Saturday.

"We in the Component Maintenance Squadron would like to express our deepest sympathy to the friends and family of Tech. Sgt. Sayavongchanh," said Maj Michael Scianna, acting 18th Component Maintenance Squadron commander. "Say's death is a huge loss for all of us in the CMS. He will be missed."

The incident is under investigation.
