As an Air Force Nurse Practitioner, you'll provide comprehensive healthcare to Airmen, retirees and families in settings ranging from solo practice in small clinics to group practice at large medical centers around the globe. You can specialize and gain additional training in one of five fields: family (FNP), women's health (WHNP), pediatric (PNP), psychiatric mental health (PMHNP) and acute care (ACNP). Additionally, you'll enter the Air Force as an officer, meaning you'll have all the respect, privileges and responsibilities tied to rank.

To ease your transition into the Air Force, you'll enter a five-week training regimen designed to educate you on the ways of both the military and military healthcare. You'll participate in physical conditioning five days a week, leadership training and classroom studies.
