Daniel Pearl World Music Days

The Reporters perform in honor of Daniel Pearl World Music Days

The U.S. Embassy Skopje is pleased to present “The Reporters”- a musical band of journalists from Macedonia who accepted the Embassy’s invitation to perform in honor of the Daniel Pearl World Music Days.  The Reporters include: Mile Boshnjakovski, Zharko Dimitrioski, Borjan Jovanovski, Petrit Saracini and Stojan Trpcevski.   Ambassador Philip Reeker will attend the event and introduce the band.  Media are invited to cover the event on Thursday, October 21, at 19:30 in Kapan An.

Background: The World Music Days were created in response to the 2002 kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl at the hands of extremists in Karachi, Pakistan.  Danny was a talented musician who joined musical groups in every community in which he lived, leaving behind a long trail of musician-friends spanning the entire world. Commemorating Danny's October 10th birthday, the Daniel Pearl World Music Days coordinates concerts in cities around the world to use the universal language of music to encourage fellowship across cultures and build a platform for "Harmony for Humanity." The Music Days have grown to include the participation of more than 6,000 performances in 105 countries.
