SSO and Peak Flow Policy
On June 1, 2010, a Federal Register Notice (PDF) (7 pp, 187KB) was published announcing listening sessions to seek stakeholder input to help EPA determine whether and how to modify the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations as they apply to municipal sanitary sewer collection systems and sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs).

Input was provided through both written comments and during four public listening sessions in late June and early July. A webcast was also held to provide national access for members of the public that cannot attend the listening sessions. The comments are open for public review at regulations.gov under Docket EPA-HQ-OW-2010-0464.
EPA is in the process of summarizing public comments from the listening sessions and those submitted in writing during the comment period. The summaries will be made publicly available upon completion.
