WELCOME TO THE School LIAISON Services

To coordinate and assist school-age and youth of military parents with educational opportunities and information necessary to achieve academic success.

To work in partnership with local schools to provide caring adults to enhance the education experience.

  • Formalize the Army School Liaison Program.

  • Promote parent involvement by Army parents of school-age children in their students' education.

  • Develop and coordinate Army Partnerships in Education.

  • Provide Army parents of school-age children the tools they need to overcome obstacles to education that stem from the military lifestyle.

  • Promote and educate local communities and schools on the needs of military children

Home-school PE group

Youth Sports hosts a home-school physical education group each Friday at the YouthPlex, Bldg. 195 Chaffee Road.

The group meets from 9:30-10:30 a.m. for elementary-aged children ages 6-11. If you have a child who is older than 11 and would like to participate, please call Youth Sports for more information.

The group’s mission is to provide a quality physical education opportunity for home-schooled students that offers a unique variety of physical experiences. Participation is free and open to children registered with Child, Youth and School Services. Participating youth should wear athletic shoes and clothing they can move in to each session.

HOW CAN THE SCHOOL LIAISON OFFICER HELP ME? 

  • Assists parents in locating points of contact in the schools and makes referrals as appropriate.

  • Maintains resource materials to assist parents in understanding the policies and procedures of the El Paso school system.

  • Communicates educational opportunities and information.

  • Assists and coordinates presentations to private, parochial and school districts concerning crisis communications. 

  • Represents and informs the command on school issues. 

  • Prepares reports, information papers, fact sheets and studies as required. 

  • Assists units with establishing and ensuring a meaningful school partnership program is in place. 

  • Prepares and presents briefings to command, installation and civilian community personnel about School Liaison issues. 

  • Provides interface between the US Army, Command, and representatives from various groups supporting educational activities. 

  • Prepares and maintains web-site on school information.
