The 354th Operations Group provides air-bridge support and realistic combat flying training in support of 354th Fighter Wing, Air Force and national objectives.
The 354th Operations Support Squadron provides combat forces, exercise and air-bridge support through a diverse array of specialties: intelligence, operations and scheduling, air traffic control, airfield management and weather observation/forecasting.
The 353d Combat Training Squadron at Eielson AFB along with Detachment 1 at Elmendorf AFB, provide the facilities, staff and battle space environment for full spectrum combat training to USAF, joint and coalition forces through RED FLAG-Alaska exercises. These exercises, certified as a Joint National Training Capability by U.S. Joint Forces Command, normally involve a variety of interdiction, attack, air superiority, defense suppression, airlift, air refueling and reconnaissance aircraft. The squadron integrates realistic combat scenarios, air and surface threats, state-of-the-art mission debriefing systems, and other contingency-specific training to provide combat and combat support training to military forces worldwide. The 353 CTS is also the custodian of the Department of Defense's largest airspace, Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC), consisting of 67,000 square miles of airspace, 11 military operating areas, and three weapons ranges.
Adding to the realistic combat training of US and allied fighter units is the 18th Aggressor Squadron. As aggressors flying the F-16 Fighting Falcon, they present fighter aircrew and intelligence personnel with a realistic look at enemy aerial tactics and weapons systems subject area expertise to better prepare both for combat.
