3/26/2012 - KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- The 18th Wing Protocol office was recently recognized by Pacific Air Force headquarters for superior performance.

The protocol office received the George Washington Award for Protocol Excellence for 2011 by providing exceptional protocol support to the largest Air Force combat wing, which includes five groups and 26 multi-service partner units.

Over the course of 2011, the 18th Wing Protocol office hosted 730 distinguished visitors and coordinated all meals, lodging, transportation, base tours and briefings, providing world-class support. The team also quality-assured the scripts, programs and practices for 21 changes of command, ensuring seamless execution of the ceremonies which impacted more than 7,000 people.

The George Washington award recognizes the best services, personnel functions and units throughout the Air Force.
