Cynthia Clark, administrator of USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), today announced the appointment of Hubert Hamer as chair of the Agricultural Statistics Board (ASB). Hamer succeeds Carol House, who retired in early March.
“Hubert Hamer is a leader who brings vast experience and knowledge to the Agricultural Statistics Board,” said Clark.
Hamer previously served as NASS associate deputy administrator for field operations and, before that, as director of the NASS Missouri Field Office. Earlier in his career, Hamer was assistant to the director of the Statistics Division, which is responsible for analyzing the data which comprise the ASB reports.
As chair, Hamer will uphold the integrity of the ASB and continue to protect the security and reliability of the more than 450 reports and estimates NASS releases each year.
