WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) called on Speaker John Boehner to keep the House in session until a deal is reached to avoid sequestration. With the House set to recess today for a full week, Bustos along with 20 other members warned that the imminent across the board cuts, which are set to kick-in on March 1, would have a negative impact on the economy and would lead to job losses. They urged the House to stay in town and work on a deal.
Congresswoman Cheri Bustos appeared on the PBS television series "To The Contrary" on in February 2013.
On the program, Congresswoman Bustos discussed her background, family, priorities and what led her into public service.
"To The Contrary" is "public television's successful all-female news analysis series, is celebrating its 20th season on air. The program was launched in 1992, dubbed the "Year of the Woman in American Politics" as women's representation in Congress blossomed."

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) was named to the Farm Commodities and Risk Management Subcommittee and the Livestock and Rural Development Subcommittee of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture. Cheri was named to the House Committee on Agriculture on January 4th and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure last month.
