MEDIA RELATIONS
Public Affairs handles all media inquiries for the 127th Wing and coordinates inquiries and media visits for other units stationed at Selfridge. This office:
- arranges press visits to the base
- assists media in obtaining interviews and photographs
- answers questions from the media
- offers information about the base to local, regional and national publications or broadcast stations
The 127th Wing Public Affairs office is always available to answer questions, provide subject matter experts, arrange interviews, and field other requests for the media. Please direct inquiries to our office at (586)239-5576.

Supporting community events is a vital part of the Public Affairs mission. There are a variety of ways the 127th Wing can assist civic groups, schools, and community projects.
Speaker's Bureau - the 127th Wing is pleased to provide public speakers for your schools, clubs and special events. Requests should be submitted at least 45 days prior to the event. Organizations must certify that attendance and/or membership in the organization is not limited on the grounds of race, religion, creed, color, or ethnic background. The Public Affairs office makes every attempt to find a speaker that meets the requirements of the request.
Flyover Requests - Flyovers can be requested for certain community events. Please follow the link to Air Force Public Affairs. Once the form is completed by the event sponsor online, it must be sent to the Flight Standards Office and then to Public Affairs. For more assistance, please contact us. |

127th Wing Environmental Statement
At Selfridge Air National Guard Base, protecting the environment is one of our highest priorities and will be a major factor in decision-making. The 127th Wing and tenants are dedicated to continued improvement of our processes to prevent and reduce waste generation. The Base will maintain compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations as well as Executive Orders and U.S. Air Force instructions and guidance.
The 127th Wing and tenant activites of Selfridge include operation and maintenance of aircraft and helicopters. Support of these missions include corrosion control, aerospace ground equipment, vehicle maintenance, administrative functions and facilities maintenance. In all the base's activities we will seek to "CARE:"
Continual Improvement. We will continuously improve our processes through assessment of our environmental aspects and related impacts.
Achieve Objectives. We will fulfill or exceed our environmental objectives to improve operational readiness.
Reduce Pollution. Wherever feasible, we will minimize the use of hazardous materials and release of pollutants, while encouraging recycling.
Ensure Compliance. We will maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and with other requirements to which the organization subscribes.
Through continued emphasis on being good stewards of the environment in which we share with the local community, we prove that we are good neighbors and citizens within the Southeast Michigan area.
