Online Searchable Database
The Online Searchable Database enables users to enter the name of an individual or entity and determine whether they are currently excluded. If a name match is made, the database can verify the match using a Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number.

Supplemental exclusion and reinstatement files are posted monthly on the OIG website so users can merge these files with a version of the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities that is stored on their computer.

OIG has the authority to exclude individuals and entities from Federally funded health care programs and maintains the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE). Anyone who hires an individual or entity on the LEIE may be subject to civil monetary penalties.
Read MoreApplying for Reinstatement
Reinstatement of excluded entities and individuals is not automatic once the period of exclusion ends. Those wishing to again participate in the Medicare, Medicaid, and any Federal health care program must apply for reinstatement and receive notice from OIG that reinstatement has been granted.
