Lamborn Supports March for Life

Today, Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05) recognizes the thousands of Americans gathered in Washington, D.C. at the March for Life, renewing a commitment to defend the sanctity of human life. January 22, 2010 marks the 37th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States, leading to the loss of over 50 million children.

Lamborn reflects on this sad day with the following remarks:

"My heart breaks when I think about the children who are now a part of a missing generation, a generation whose contributions to society we will never know, a generation whose lives could have inspired and helped their families, nation, and world.

“Our society now promotes a culture that discriminates against these most defenseless human beings who should receive the same protections as any other person.

“Not only does abortion strip the world of human lives, it also dramatically affects the lives of their mothers, leaving them to deal with the emotional aftermath of this brutal procedure. I commend the work of pregnancy care centers across the country that provide needed services to both mothers and their children.

“Today, I mourn the over 50 million American lives cut short by abortion. I will remain steadfast in the fight for the rights and dignity of the unborn.”—Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
