While many people think of the hungry during the holidays, individuals and families are in need in our community every day. Fortunately, people in in our community have somewhere to turn when they need help.

Volunteering at Blue Summit Baptist Church, a Harvesters agency that helps feed close to 600 families every month, Liz sees hunger firsthand.

“We see families who are struggling to pay rent, utility bills and send their kids to school,” she said. “They just aren’t making enough to get by. The community doesn’t often see how many people need help but aren’t getting it.”
