U.S. Government Builds Local Government Skills Using a New “Practical Management Guide”

On January 15, 2013, the Center for Public Technologies brought together civil society organizations, representatives from the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and Members of Parliament to launch a new guide to working with local government bodies.  The “Practical Management Guide,” developed and printed through support from USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives (USAID/OTI), provides Aiyl Okmotu kenesh (township council) members and local government administration officials with information about the roles and functions of sub-national government institutions. USAID Announced Results of Infection Control Contest in Issyk-Ata Region

On December 28, 2012, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through its Quality Health Care Project, will hold an awards ceremony to recognize the infection prevention control improvements made in primary health care facilities in Issyk-Ata Rayon. At the event, USAID Representative Carey Gordon and Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Kaliev will award certificates and prizes to the contest winners for the best “Respiratory Diseases Infection Control Plans,” in which 18 family group practices in the region took part.
