  An effort is building in Congress to change U.S. marijuana laws, including moves to legalize the industrial production of hemp and establish a hefty federal pot tax.
• I testified before the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission and encouraged them to keep fracking further away from homes and schools and to confirm the important role of counties and cities in determining land use within their borders. It's not easy and I don't envy the county commissioners their jobs but the state shouldn't attempt to do their job for them with a one-size-fits-all approach.
