TIPS FOR TRAVELERS:

The Eielson Passenger Terminal follows TSA rules and regulations relating to what travelers may take aboard an aircraft in their hand carried baggage. Call the Passenger Terminal for updates.

Summertime travel for retirees into and out of Eielson AFB is extremely limited due to summertime dependent travel and Red Flag Alaska exercises. Billeting is generally unavailable during the summer months because of Eielson's exercise schedule.

Taxi service to and from Fairbanks is approximately $70 to $80. In addition, very few rental car agencies will travel to Eielson to pick up customers.

Travel on C-12 aircraft from Oct. 1 to March 31 requires full cold weather gear for military personnel and equivalent gear for dependents and civilians/retirees.
