Our Research Projects

Field studies, such as this one in Leadenwah Creek in South Carolina, examine sediments for the
distribution and concentration of over 100 chemical contaminants. We also assess the condition
of bottom-dwelling invertebrates to create a comprehensive picture of the habitat's health.

The NCCOS Project Explorer provides a snapshot of our official, discrete lines of research. The database includes intramural research conducted across our Centers, as well as funded extramural projects. It is an up-to-date resource and includes the option of searching all projects by our research themes, keywords, and the project's primary contact.
