SGT Joshua Dwyer

SGT Josh Dwyer is proud that he was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. Growing up in the beautiful Sierra Nevadas, Josh fell in love with snowboarding at a young age, so he is glad to be in Bavaria, where he hopes to glide down the Bavarian Alps.

Josh joined the Army in January, 2007 as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He was stationed at Fort Drum, New York with the 59th Chemical Company for his first tour. While with the 59th Chemical Company, he became the first mechanic in the Army to become HAZMAT Technician qualified. Basically, he is trained to clean up chemicals in those big plastic suits that look funny. He served a year in Iraq with 4th platoon, 59th Chemical Company, with Task Force Troy. He enjoyed his time in Iraq and Fort Drum, and is happy to be moving forward as a broadcast journalist. “It was alright, but I’m glad I don’t have to turn wrenches in the freezing motorpool anymore. I’m really happy to be here, and plan to make the most of my time here.”
