Psychopharmacology of PTSDThe purpose of this broadcast is to increase participants' knowledge in identifying target symptoms in PTSD for pharmacological treatment and to provide basic information on the mechanisms of action of various classes of pharmacological agents. Also the presentation will review data on the efficacy of various classes of medications in treatment of PTSD.

Goals:

After the completion of this program, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the hypothesized mechanism of action of the major classes of pharmacological agents; and
  2. Know what medications have objective data supporting their efficacy in the treatment of PTSD.
