Evaluate status and trends in markets for fuelwood, bioenergy and biofuels

Research Goals

Current research goals are to:
  • Estimate potential wood biomass supply from forests and other wood sources to make cellulosic biofuels, other chemicals and electric power
  • Estimate carbon storage in wood products and evaluate alternate means for increasing storage including shifts in use, technology change, and change in forest treatments
  • Provide socioeconomic indicators of forest sustainability for the Montreal Process
  • Provide evaluation of status and trends in markets for fuelwood, bioenergy and biofuels
