NASA Human Research Program (HRP)
NASA's Human Research Program (HRP) conducts research and develops technologies that allow humans to travel
safely and productively in space. The Program uses evidence from data collected on astronauts, as well as
other supporting studies. These data are stored in the research data repository, Life Sciences Data Archive (LSDA).

Research Data Repository: Life Sciences Data Archive (LSDA)
NASA's Life Sciences Data Archive (LSDA) is an active archive that provides information and data from 1961 (Mercury
Project) through current flight and flight analog studies (International Space Station, Shuttle, bed rest studies, etc.)
involving human, plant and animal subjects.
The Space Medicine Division mission is to optimize the health, fitness, and well
being of flight crews, their dependents and the employees of the Johnson Space
Center in Texas, and the White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico. Astronaut medical
data collected by the Space Medicine Division for clinical purposes are archived,
maintained, and analyzed by the Lifetime Surveillance of Astronaut Health (LSAH) Program.
Medical Data Repository: Lifetime Surveillance of Astronaut Health (LSAH)
The Lifetime Surveillance of Astronaut Health (LSAH) is a proactive occupational surveillance program for the astronaut corps to screen and monitor astronauts for occupational related disease.
The LSAH Repository (LSAH-R) was established to implement a research component to enable analysis of astronaut medical data.
