Captain Elliot A. Chandler was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery from Norwich University in July 2004 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. His military education includes graduation from the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, Joint Fire Power Course, and Operational Electronic Warfare School.

CPT Chandler’s initial assignment was as a Fire Support Officer in the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry in Schweinfurt, Germany. During his tenure in Germany, he deployed to Iraq in support of OIF 06-08 with 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery as a Motorized Infantry Platoon Leader. Following his initial assignment, CPT Chandler was assigned to 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery in Fort Hood TX. During his tenure at Fort Hood, he deployed to Iraq in support of OIF 09-10 as a Battalion Fire Direction Officer, Battalion Operations Officer, and a Battle Captain in a Joint Operation Center for the 37th Brigade, 9th Iraqi Army. Following his deployment to Iraq, CPT Chandler became the Battalion Fire Support Officer for the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry, at Fort Hood, TX. His next assignment was to the 193rd Infantry Training Brigade at FT Jackson, SC.

CPT Chandler’s awards and decorations include: the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal and Overseas Service Medal.
