COMMAND TEAM
WELCOME LETTER

Dear Task Force Bayonet Member,

I would like to welcome you and your family to Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and to congratulate you on your assignment to the 193rd Infantry Brigade.

The 193rd Infantry conducts Basic Combat Training to produce confident, disciplined, motivated, and physically/mentally fit Soldiers who embody the Army Values and Warrior ethos; are trained to standard in their basic Soldier skills, proficient in their Warrior Tasks and Drills, and are prepared to fight and win on any battlefield, against any enemy, anytime.

The 193rd Infantry Brigade consists of five Basic Combat Training (BCT) battalions (1st Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment, the 2nd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment, the 3rd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment, the 2nd Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment, and the 3rd Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment); and a Brigade Headquarters and Headquarters Company. The Brigade’s permanent party strength averages approximately 750 Soldiers and we have the capacity to train 7,500 Soldiers at any one time.

Fort Jackson is a great place to work and live. It is the largest and most active Initial Entry Training Center in the United States Army, providing training to almost 50% of the men and women who enter the service each year. In order to familiarize you and your family to Fort Jackson, please visit the Fort Jackson website.

We sincerely look forward to your arrival at Fort Jackson and joining Task Force Bayonet. Your assignment will be both rewarding and challenging as you assist in the transformation of America’s sons and daughters into Soldiers for our Army.

“No Ground to Give”

Respectfully,

Joseph S. Mclamb

Colonel, Infantry Commanding
