We are now pleased to make a special announcement regarding future editions of the conference.
WCDM Announcement
Diversified Communications Canada (DCC), organizer of the World Conference on Disaster Management (WCDM), is announcing an exciting redevelopment of the conference. WCDM has been a leading event for the disaster management community, providing a unique combination of business continuity and emergency management education. However as the disaster management community evolves, their needs change as well, and DCC has identified an excellent opportunity to shift the focus of the conference to deliver even better education that addresses the current global threats, risks, and opportunities we all face. After considerable research and feedback from the disaster management community DCC will modify the WCDM conference for future editions by sharing lessons from resilient organizations around the world and in particular by exploring opportunities based on innovation, experience, and creativity. There is greater development work that is required to ensure that the conference will continue to be relevant as well as meet these changing needs of the disaster management community and exceed the expectations of the delegates. Due to the time required to fulfill this development work DCC has decided to postpone the 2017 event traditionally held at Toronto, Canada in June.DCC will be announcing the outcomes from the development work that will drive the content and new dates of the conference as they become available in a timely manner. We will also be evaluating additional learning opportunities that may include webinars, workshops, and online training.
