American Works Shown at 13th International Triennial of Tapestry in Łódź

The works of five American artists will be presented among 130 entries from the 51 countries represented in the 13th International Triennial of Tapestry taking place in Łódź in May 2010.
Camille J. Cook, President of the Illinois-based organization Friends of Fiber Art International, has once again been invited to serve as an advisor to the Triennial.
The international jury will award the Grand Prix,  two silver medals, three bronze medals,  honorary mentions, and the Best First Appearance prize (of the Akapi Foundation).  The curators of the museum will award their own Medal.  Jury members include: Włodzimierz Cygan, Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Łódź, Poland; Kyoko Kumai, Professor, Nagaoka Institute of Art Design, Japan; Androna Linartas, President, Mexican Association of Artists Weavers, Mexico; Velta Raudzepa, Deputy Director, Museum of Decorative Arts, Riga, Latvia; Lauren Whitley, Curator, Department of Textile Art and Fashion, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, USA; and Norbert Zawisza, Director, Central Museum of Textiles, Łódź, Poland.
The 13th International Triennial of Tapestry will hold its opening ceremony and announce the results of the competition on Monday, 10th May 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
