Meet America with the U.S. Embassy Warsaw

Meet America

Are you interested in learning more about the U.S. from an American Speaker? The U.S. Embassy can facilitate that for you through its speaker programs. You can invite a U.S. diplomat to your school, university, conference, U.S. related event or you can visit the Embassy and meet with U.S. diplomats listening to their presentations on U.S. topics.

Join discussion with U.S. Embassy diplomats! We offer presentations by and discussions for groups on issues of mutual interest with American diplomats who work in the Embassy. The Embassy speaker can come to your venue or we can invite your group to the Embassy for the program. We can offer a list of themes our diplomats can present but we first welcome your ideas on which U.S. topic you would like to learn about from our diplomats.

    December 19 the U.S. Embassy hosted a group of forty five middle school students from Radom at a Meet America program at which they learned from our diplomats about American culture, landscapes and media.

    A group of 25 high school students from Końskie visited the Embassy to learn from our diplomats about American culture, history and computer science. The students had the opportunity to listen to presentations by POL/ECON officer Michael Rosenthal, Consular officer Frisco McDonald and GSO Andrew Staples

    Law Students Discuss Foreign Service and Legal Issues with U.S. Diplomats

    On November 7th, the American Information Resource Center (AIRC) hosted a group of twenty-five law students and members of the European Law Student Association (ELSA) for a Meet America program. During the program, they discussed how to join the U.S. Foreign Service with Public Affairs Officer (PAO) Lisa Helling and compared American and European law with Vice-Consul Elizabeth Shackelford.

    On November 8, the Embassy’s Meet America program hosted a group of high school students from Poznan who came to learn from our diplomats what the U.S. does to protect the environment and how the U.S. Government promotes democracy.

    October 21, Meet America program hosted in the Embassy a group of 30 high school students from XXXVII Jarosław Dąbrowski High School in Warsaw to exchange observations with our diplomats on American society and culture.

    Students from Bydgoszcz “Meet America” at the U.S. Embassy

    On October 14, a group of 50 middle school students from Bydgoszcz participated in another “Meet America” program at the Embassy to learn about the U.S. Foreign Service and our education system. Cultural Attaché Andrew Paul told the group about the benefits and challenges of a diplomatic career and explained what foreign “service” entails.

    On October 13th , as part of our “Meet America” program, the Embassy hosted a group of 26 middle school students from Sikórz, a small town near Płock, so they could learn from our diplomats about Polish-American historical relations, U.S. geographic diversity and American multiculturalism.
