BACKGROUND

Energi is a Massachusetts-based Industrial Reinsurance Company that provides innovative risk management and insurance programs to segments of the energy industry. As a way to enable market activity, Energi and strategic partner Hannover Re jointly developed their Energy Savings Warranty Program to insure energy savings guarantees made by energy efficiency contractors and ESCOs.

Energi is working closely with financial institutions to provide risk mitigation on retrofit projects to protect debt and equity capital. Energi's role as a Better Buildings Challenge Financial Ally and Commitment to insure a minimum of $50 million in aggregate limits for retrofit projects signifies its aim to accelerate energy efficiency financing.

Markets Served

Energy Savings Warranty Program can be utilized for a wide scope of retrofit projects, including commercial buildings, Municipal, University, School & Hospital (MUSH market) facilities, and multi-family residential.

Products and services

The Energy Savings Warranty Program is a contractual liability insurance policy that backstops an energy savings guarantee offered by ESCOs or efficiency contractors. The Policy is backed by a Best "A+" rated insurer. Energi's in-house Engineers review all details of a project during the design and installation phase and serve as a stamp of approval on savings projections. This adds not only additional financial security, but a third-party verification to the rigor of assuring project success.
