Recreation Areas

Developed Camping:

·         Dale Hollow Damsite Campground- 79 level campsites with water and electric hookup, showers, dump station, and playground.  Located three miles from Celina, Tennessee. Reservations recommended through the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS).

·         Cove Creek- 10 campsites with tent pad, picnic table and fire ring or grill; vault toilet, parking and launch ramp.  Reservations required through the NRRS.

·         Lillydale Campground- 114 campsites.  Most have water and electric hookup.  15 are walk-to island camping.; showers, dump station, beach, launch ramp, parking, hiking trail and playground.  Located about 20 miles from Livingston, Tennessee.  Reservations recommended through the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS).

·         Obey River Campground- 131 campsites.  Area contains level sites with water and electric hookup and tent sites without hookups;  showers, dump station, launch ramp, parking and playground.  Located near Byrdstown, Tennessee.  Reservations recommended through the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS).

·         Willow Grove Campground- 83 campsites.  Area contains level sites with water and electric hookup and tent sites without hookups; showers, dump station, beach, launch ramp, parking, hiking trail and playground.  Located about 20 miles from Livingston, Tennessee.  Reservations recommended through the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS).

 

Day Use Areas:

·         Dale Hollow Damsite- Quiet day use area just below Dale Hollow Dam adjacent to the Obey River.  Area contains a reservable picnic shelter, individual picnic tables, playground, launching ramp and fishing pier.  There is no fee to use this area.

·         Donaldson Park- Located within the city limits of Celina, this area contains two reservable picnic shelters, playground, tennis court, basketball area, launch ramp and parking for the Obey River.  There is no fee to use this area.

·         Lillydale Recreation Area- Centrally located on Dale Hollow Lake about 20 miles from Livingston, TN.  Area contains a day use launch ramp with parking, beach area, reservable picnic shelter, individual picnic tables, volleyball court, playground and restrooms.  A day use fee is charged for this area.  Use the honor vault at the site entry.  Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use Pass is accepted.

·         Obey River Day Use- Contains the largest sand beach on Dale Hollow Lake and is located near Byrdstown, TN.  Area contains a day use launch ramp with parking, two reservable picnic shelters, individual picnic tables, sand beach, playground, and restrooms.  A day use fee is charged for this area.  Use the honor vault at the site entry when attendant is not on duty.  Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use Pass is accepted.

·         Pleasant Grove- Closest launch ramp to the dam and known for the swinging bridge.  Located near Celina, TN.  Area contains launch ramp with parking, restrooms, reservable picnic shelter, individual picnic tables, short trail, swinging bridge.  Area is used for swimming near the swinging bridge.  Use caution as this is not a developed swim beach and is known for underwater drop offs.  A day use fee is charged for this area.  Use the honor vault at the site entry when attendant is not on duty.  Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use Pass is accepted.

·         Willow Grove- Centrally located on Dale Hollow Lake about 20 miles from Livingston, TN.  Area contains reservable picnic shelter with parking.   Restrooms and volleyball court are accessible via the adjacent campground. A day use launch ramp with parking is available during the winter months only.  There is no fee to use this area.

 

Access Area with Ramp:

·         Moody’s Access- Located near Celina, TN and provides access to the Obey River Tailwater.  Area contains a launch ramp, parking and toilet facility.  There is no fee to use this area.

·         Compton Bottom- Located off Hwy 52 in Fentress County.  The area is remote and contains a single lane concrete ramp with gravel parking.  Access great for canoeing and kayaking.  There is no fee to use this area.

·         Gum Grove- The area is remote and contains a single lane concrete ramp with gravel parking.  There is no fee to use this area.

·         Gunnels Camp- Located north of Byrdstown, TN and provides access to the upper end of the Wolf River.  Area contains a launch ramp, parking and pit toilet.  There is no fee to use this area.  For local information call 931-864-7277.

·         Keisling Bottom- The area is remote and contains a single lane concrete ramp.  There is no fee to use this area.

·         Plank Yard- Located south of Byrdstown, TN.  Area contains launch ramp, gravel parking, pit toilet and primitive camping site.  There is no fee to use this area.

·         Wolf River Bridge- Located north of Byrdstown, TN.  Area contains single launch ramp, gravel parking and pit toilet.  There is no fee to use this area.

 

Trails:

·         Accordian Bluff- This 7.5-mile one-way scenic trail that connects the Lillydale and Willow Grove Campgrounds. This natural soil surface trail winds along the shoreline of Dale Hollow, ascends to the ridge-top and then returns back toward the shoreline. Parking available at each trailhead.  There is no fee to use this area.

·         Red Oak Ridge- Located 8 miles north of Celina, TN off highway 53, hosts 18 miles of beautiful and scenic trails developed for horseback riding and hiking.  Gravel parking at the trailhead also includes a primitive camping site and pit toilet.  Coggins papers required.  There is no fee to use this area.
