Battalion Commander

Lieutenant Colonel J.C. Glick, was commissioned into the Infantry as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Rhode Island, with a degree in Political Science in 1995. He has served as a Ranger Company Commander and Special Missions Unit Troop Commander in combat, and has over 53 months of command time with operational and combat deployments to Haiti, Bangladesh, Iraq and Afghanistan.

LTC Glick first assignment was with 3d Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82d Airborne Division, as an Anti-Tank Platoon Leader, Infantry Platoon Leader and Battalion Adjutant. In 1998 he was assigned to 3d Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, where he served as a Ranger Platoon Leader, Battalion Assistant Logistics Officer and Battalion Logistics Officer.

In January of 2001, LTC Glick took command of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 23d Infantry, part of the Army’s first Stryker Brigade, 2d IBCT. In 2002, LTC Glick returned to the 75th Ranger Regiment as the Regimental Air Operations Officer before assuming command of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

In 2005 LTC Glick attended the Naval War College and received his Master’s in National Security and Strategic Studies. He was then selected for the Asymmetric Warfare Group (AWG). With AWG, he served as a team member, Team Leader, Squadron Operations Officer and Troop Commander. After two years of Troop Command, LTC Glick was selected as the Group’s Chief of Future Operations.

Following AWG, LTC Glick was selected as a fellow with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Most recently, he was the Brigade Executive Officer for the 193d Infantry Brigade.

LTC Glick’s awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf cluster, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Iraqi and Afghanistan Campaign Medals, Senior Parachutists Wings, Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman Badge, , the Combat Infantry Badge, the Army Staff Identification badge, Senior German Parachutist Badge, Canadian Jumpmaster Parachutist Badge and Australian Commando Parachutists Badge.

Command Sergeant Major Dennis J. King, hails from Gosport, Alabama, entered the Army in October 1981. He attended Basic Training at Fort Benning, GA.

He has served with the 2nd Armor Division; 2nd Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment at Fort Hood TX; 84th Chemical School; 3rd Battalion, 48th Infantry Regiment; 82nd Chemical Battalion; 39th Adjutant General Battalion at Fort McClellan AL; 1st Brigade, 327th Infantry; 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment at Fort Campbell, KY; 4th Brigade, 1st Region ROTC at Fort Belvoir, VA; 1st Battalion, 87 Infantry Regiment; 1st Battalion 32nd Infantry Regiment; 1st Brigade at Fort Drum, NY; 2nd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment;193rd Infantry Brigade at Fort Jackson, SC; 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC; 2nd Brigade, 1st Calvary Division at Fort Hood, TX.

His overseas assignments include 4th Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment,187th Infantry Regiment in Panama; 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment in Hawaii; Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division in Korea.

CSM King has attended numerous Army Schools to include Primary Noncommissioned Officer Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Instructor Training Course, the AT4 Weapon Course, Drill Sergeant School, Master Fitness School, Air Assault School, Hazardous Cargo Training, RIP, Battle Staff Course, Air Load Planner Course, School of Cadet Command, the First Sergeant’s course, the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (SEA), and the TRADOC Pre Command Course.

His awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal (3rd Award), Meritorious Service Medal (7th Award), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4th Award), Army Achievement Medal (7th Award), Good Conduct Medal (10th Award), National Defense Service Medal (w/Bronze Star), Korean Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan and Iraq Campaign Medal (w/Bronze Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (w/Arrow head device), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, United Nation Medal(Haiti), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation (2nd Award), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (w/Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (w/Numeral 3) the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Driver Badge (W). He is also a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.

CSM King received his Bachelor of Science Degree and Homeland Security Certification from Excelsior College in New York.

CSM King is married, has five children and three grandchildren.
