Resources > Family Readiness

The 185th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) Family Readiness Office is available to assist all military members and their families. Our primary goal is to prepare the Guard member and their family for deployments prior to mobilization, TDY, or training dates, if possible. It is imperative that both the member and family are properly prepared before a separation in order for the member to stay focused on the mission and the family to be self-sufficient while the member is away. In addition, our goal is to contribute to the overall morale and welfare of the 185th ARW. We provide family activities throughout the year in order for everyone to prosper and grow in the "Guard Family." Through these activities and during deployments, we hope to provide the opportunity for relationships and mutual support to occur, particularly during times of separation.

In addition, the Family Readiness Office assists in various situations as requests and needs are identified. The Family Readiness Program serves as a liaison between the member and his/her family to resources at the 185th ARW, with the National Guard and within the Siouxland community. Anyone can become involved with the Bats Family Club, including members, spouses, significant others, parents, youth, extended family, retirees, and friends. Essentially, the organization is open to anyone who has the best interest of the 185th at heart.
