In November 2003, Mayor Bloomberg convened a group of public, private, and nonprofit leaders to develop a multi-sector strategy to end homelessness in New York City. From November 2003 through April 2004, a 41-member coordinating committee as well as hundreds of task force participants worked to produce the nine-point strategy. Included in the strategy were analyses of existing plans from various jurisdictions. The current plan "Uniting for Solutions Beyond Shelter," includes an extensive action plan and the current status of the plan's components.
