About Us
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) Homelessness Resource Center (HRC) is an interactive learning community dedicated to disseminating knowledge and best practices to prevent and end homelessness. It includes providers, consumers, policymakers, researchers, and public agencies at Federal, State, and local levels.
The HRC is part of SAMHSA's Recovery Support Strategic Initiative. SAMHSA's homeless and housing programs are united by a vision of ending homelessness by supporting individuals through a process of change as they improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.
SAMHSA's HRC is operated by the Homeless and Housing Resource Network (HHRN) technical assistance (TA) contract, and is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Homeless Programs Branch and Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), Co-Occurring and Homeless Activities Branch.
The HRC website is part of the Homelessness Resource Network (HRN), a collaboration to share a common digital library of over 9,000 resources related to homelessness, mental illness, substance use, co-occurring disorders, and traumatic stress. In addition to the HRC, HRN member websites include:
the Homeless Hub
,
SAMHSA's Projects for Assistance in Transitions from Homelessness
(PATH), and SAMHSA's
Co-Occurring and Homeless Activities Branch
(CHAB).
