Ms. Kathy Aydt became the USAG Grafenwoehr Enterprise, Deputy Garrison Commander in May 2011. From October 31, 2011 to January 17, 2012, Ms. Aydt served as the USAG Grafenwoehr Enterprise, Acting Garrison Commander. Prior to coming to Grafenwoehr, Ms. Aydt was the Chief of Strategic Communications for the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management and the Installation Management. She previously held the position of Chief, Center for Future Plans for Installation Management.  Prior to that she was the J4, Director of Logistics and Contracting, for the Joint Interagency Task Force South, where she provided logistic support to tactically deployed inter-agency forces and provided BASOPS support to the headquarters complex.  Ms. Aydt began her career as a Department of Army Civil Servant on 22 July 1985.  She spent three years (1986-1989) as a civil servant for the U.S. Air Force at Howard Air Force Base in the Republic of Panama followed by six years with the U.S. Army Garrison in Panama.  Her areas of expertise include Resource Management & Programming, Budget Execution, BASOPS Support, Logistics and Contracting.  Ms. Aydt has gained a unique perspective by working at multiple command levels in the USSOUTHCOM AOR including Garrison, ACOM, Combatant Command and the Joint Interagency Task Force.  
Early in her career, Ms. Aydt entered a Department of Army Internship Program specializing in the Management Analysis field. She continued her professional development through the Army Management Staff College Leadership Program by attending in residence the Sustaining Base Leadership and Management Program, and completing the Civilian Leader Development Core Curriculum.  She has extensive training in Malcolm Baldrige Criteria and served as a Department of the Army evaluator from 1996-1997. Most recently she graduated from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces Senior Service College in residence where she earned her second Master’s degree in National Resource Strategy.  She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Nova University where she was honored as the Valedictorian.  She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Radford College, Radford, Virginia. 
Concurrent with her Department of Defense Career, Ms. Aydt has benefited from other unique experiences including: administering a Home School High School in Key West Florida for 20 students 2004 - 2009 and working as a licensed real estate agent in the State of Florida, 1998-2000.
Ms. Aydt’s awards include:  Department of Army Superior Civilian Service Award, Department of the Army Commander’s Award for Civilian Service, and Department of the Army Achievement Medal. Ms. Aydt is married with her husband Kenny. Her son Cody attends Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.
