Rokita unlikely to vote for raising national debt ceiling

Rokita said he will not vote in favor of raising the U.S. debt ceiling even though Treasury Department officials have said the country will run out of room to meet its obligations by early August. The only hedge Rokita put on that promise is if some permanent structural spending reforms, such as the passage of a balanced budget constitutional amendment, are ceded as part of the vote.
