The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is accepting applications for the EERE Postdoctoral Research Award Program—a unique research opportunity for recent Ph.D. recipients to engage in innovative research at universities, national laboratories and other research facilities. Awards are designed to advance the development of clean energy technologies in the following research areas:

Energy Efficiency Renewable Energy
Industry Hydrogen and fuel cells
Vehicles Geothermal
  Solar
  Water

Participants are expected to dedicate 80 percent of their time on a core research project and 20 percent of their time on an innovation project. This 80/20 approach to the research plan is critical to encourage the new ideas and concepts needed for the development of cutting-edge technologies. Benefits include a yearly stipend, research allowance, health insurance and relocation travel. Awards are for up to two years.

Please check the Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Postdoctoral Research Awards website for information about the next competition cycle.
