Goal:

Ensure the goals are met under each awarded grant while simultaneously assuring the growth and development of grantee organizations

Objectives:

  • Sub-grant to selected Ethiopian organizations to provide HIV/AIDS prevention and care services in high prevalence areas
  • Build capacities of local organizations in program management, monitoring and evaluation, and finance and grants management
  • Provide capacity building support to prime and sub-recipients of the Global Fund

Description:

Grant Solicitation Management streamlines the health grants process in a variety of health sectors including family planning, HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, and control of infectious diseases, as well as supporting community-based service delivery, training, and related activities. The program is responsible for grant solicitation, review, award, management, and monitoring and evaluation. GSM also provides technical assistance to the grantees.

Expected Results:

  • Identify potential grantees to solicit applications, and then monitor project implementation and closeout
  • Develop a grant making mechanism to support service delivery aimed at assisting vulnerable populations
  • Provide direct capacity building assistance to local non-governmental organizations through a tailored package of assessment, training and technical assistance
