The Cardiothoracic Surgery Service is a referral service caring for patients (ages 18 years old and up) in the Southeastern Regional Medical Command (SERMC). The service provides the entire spectrum of cardiac, thoracic and vascular procedures. These procedures include on pump and off pump coronary artery bypass surgery utilizing ednoscopic vein harvesting, valve replacement or repair surgery, as well as other heart surgery procedures. Thoracic surgeries include videoscopic assisted lung biopsy, lobectomy, wedge resection and the whole spectrum of thoracic, lung, chest and esophageal procedures. Vascular procedures include endoscopic repair of aortic aneurysms and additional types of vascular surgery repairs.

Clinic hours are 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Monday thru Friday. After hours and weekends call the Cardiology Cardiothoracic Case Manager at (706) 787-8092/8091 and you will directed to the on call staff pager number.

Scheduled patient appointments are seen on Wednesday’s from 8:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. Patients should check in to the Cardiology Clinic located on the 2nd floor. After the check in process is complete you will directed to the 5th floor, room 5B 40 the Cardiothoracic waiting room. From there you will be seen by the Cardiothoracic Surgery Staff.
