National and Global Presence

FIA collects forest data nationwide, dividing the country into four regions.  The Northern, Pacific Northwest, Interior West, and Southern Regions.  Puerto Rico, Alaska, and the Pacific Islands are also included.

FIA is internationally recognized and has assisted with inventory programs in several countries. Recently, we assisted in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Honduras, Mexico, Guyana, Jordan, Bulgaria, Russia, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Community Engagement

	Whether in large metropolitan areas or small rural towns, our employees promote science through community engagement. They participate in such programs as science fair judging, classroom outreach, job fairs, museum events, and jamborees.
