The objectives of the Market and Trade Development program are to: (i) strengthen linkages along products chains that have strong market potential; (ii) build local capacity to assess and respond to changing economic conditions affecting investment and trade; and (iii) support the improvement of economic and trade policies that encourage investment and exports.
The Guyana Trade and Investment Support (GTIS)Program focuses on the following outcomes: (1) developing and implementing key trade and investment policies, standards and practices consistent with the country’s obligations and international best practices; (2) working with private sector firms to increase value-added export products competitiveness; and (3) working with tourism sector agencies, operatives and other stakeholders to boost eco-tourism sectordevelopment.
The objective of this IQC is to allow missions and bureaus to continue to engage in business, trade and investment work and related sector reform projects through a structured procurement process. The new IQC will build on initial SEGIR experience in addressing business, trade and investment constraints to economic growth in USAID-presence countries.
The Southern Africa Trade and Competitiveness Program is designed to increase international competitiveness, intra-regional trade, and food security in the SADC region. This will be accomplished through the advancement of the regional integration agenda and increased trade capacity of regional value chains in selected sectors.
