5/9/2011 - MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- On behalf of the 908th Maintenance Squadron, Major Travis Shults and Chief Master Sgt. Jesse Scott recently accepted the first 'Sweet Tea Award,' a new honor bestowed quarterly by the HRDC Council to help spread friendly competition between squadrons in areas the UCI inspects.

Points are added or taken away in the areas of OPR/EPRs, fitness stats, IMR stats, overdue orders, percentages of those with decorations, submissions for PEP and quarterly awards. The travelling trophy will be passed from the current awardee to the next. There will be an annual 'formal' award.

"I'm really excited about winning the award," Maj. Shults said. "I know how hard the squadron has worked to try to better our statistics especially with EPRs, awards and decorations as well as in other administrative areas where we struggled in the past. We've really put out a great effort and I want to credit the guys for their good work."

In regard to retaining the award, Maj. Shults was positive in stating,"And we're going to keep it. I think next quarter, it will be ours again."
