The 2 SFS provides force protection, security, police and investigative services, military working dog and game warden support for the 2nd Bomb Wing and its mission partners during peace, contingency or war. Ultimately, the 2 SFS maintains law and order for military, civilian and retirees on a 22,000 acre base.
tabPolice Services and Crime Prevention 
Police Services is responsible for developing and writing state and local police services policies and procedures. Police Services manage installation entry control, visitor center operations, crime prevention along with coordinating special events and functions:
  • Citizens on Patrol Volunteer
  • Parking Warden Program
  • Impaired Driving Campaign
  • Prescription Drugs Take Back Day
  • National Police Week
  • National Click It or Ticket Mobilization
tab2 SFS K-9 Unit 
The 2 SFS K-9 Unit provides trained and certified Military Working Dogs to the Barksdale and local communities. MWDs patrol base entry points, vehicles and installations for hazardous materials and contraband to make Barksdale a safe place to work and live.
tabReports and Analysis 
Reports and Analysis is responsible for processing incident and investigation reports. RA also maintains debarment and revocation files while providing investigative and background information to authorized agencies. In addition RA maintains criminal incident data and statistical analysis.
tabInvestigations 
The 2 SFS investigations section is responsible for conducting in-depth criminal investigations into all criminal complaints that fall within the purview of Security Forces.
  • Identity theft
  • Damage of private or government property
  • Theft of private or government property
  • Attempted suicide
  • Use or possession of a controlled substance
  • Absences without leave
  • Assault
  • Other violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Louisiana State law or Federal law

tabGame Warden Office 
The Game Warden Office secures 18,000 acres,15 miles of waterways, 6 lakes and 11 ponds while enforcing Federal, State and Barksdale Air Force Base hunting, trapping and fishing laws. The GWO assits Natural Resources manager in fire and predator control, game census in addition to monitoring campsites and hiking trails.

Non-DoD personnel requiring unescorted access to Barksdale ADB require the following items to be issued a Defense Biometric Identification System ID card:
  • Valid State-issued Driver's License or ID Card
  • Access Request Form submitted by base Sponsor
  • Pass National Crime Information Center criminal history background check
